The Wienliebe Festival will debut on Rathausplatz from May 24 to May 26 next weekend. Culture, culinary delights and products from Vienna will take centre stage. The aim is for the Viennese to get to know their city in a new way.
Vienna will show itself from different sides for three days, from Friday to Sunday. Numerous live acts will be performed on the stage where Festival Week has opened. Culinary delights will be provided by numerous well-known restaurateurs. Stalls with handicraft products and a food market await visitors. The festival is organised by Stadt Wien Marketing. The festival starts on Friday at 2.00 pm, with the official opening by Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) at 4.00 pm.
Viennese song, Viennese cuisine, Viennese crafts
The musical spectrum ranges from Viennese song and rap to Viennese classical music. Performers include the Agnes Palmisano Trio, Müßig Gang, Ernst Molden & das Frauenorchester (with a special guest), Viennese brass bands and Yasmo & die Klangkantine. The programme also includes musical performances and demonstrations by Viennese dance schools.

People can satisfy their hunger with numerous specialities of Viennese cuisine. This is characterised by many cultures, which is reflected in the abundance of food on offer. Accordingly, there is a wide variety of food options: sausage stands, confectioners, wine taverns, beef and knuckles of pork, and beer and wines from the city.
The third pillar of Wienliebe is Viennese arts and crafts. Here, too, the diversity of the offerings can be traced back to the many traditions passed down from generation to generation. Whether porcelain painting, skilfully designed jewellery or textiles, selected businesses showcase their skills on Rathausplatz.
